TTRPG Fan Project - Ravenloft 3e/3.5 Compendium

Image
And now for something completely different!  Friends, I am extremely excited to share one of the longest fan ttrpg projects I have ever done.       In case you didn't know, my favorite campaign setting for the Dungeons & Dragons roleplaying game is Ravenloft.  Ravenloft is the gothic horror and fantasy setting, made famous with modules like Curse of Strahd and characters like Strahd von Zarovich !  And my favorite era of the setting, as I am sure you can guess, is the D&D 3e/3.5 era by Sword & Sorcery Studios !     S&S took all the amazing lore and character options from previous incarnations of Ravenloft, and updated-slash-expanded on them with the storytelling mechanics and themes of 3e/3.5 edition.  This was all done from 2000 to 2008.  As with any campaign setting of D&D, it has had a rabid fanbase for decades since its inception--Ravenloft was not afraid to test the limits of gothic fantasy, horror st...

D&D Homebrew Monsters - Barometz, Darkwood Sheep

Image
A homebrew vegetal sheep-like monster for   Dungeons & Dragons  3e/3.5 ; created by   Aboleth Eye !        As always, though this homebrew was made with  D&D  3.5 edition  in mind, with a few tweaks you can absolutely use this material with  Pathfinder  1st edition ! --  Aboleth Eye The sound of bleating can be heard from just beyond the treeline.  Following it, past a withered section of forest, you see a lone lamb grazing in the middle of a lavender glade, surrounded by shrubbery.  The lost sheep must have been rolling around--its thick shaggy coat appears green and speckled with purple wildflowers.        The lamb trots away playfully as you approach--to the middle of the glade.  And you notice suddenly, beneath its black hooves, the half-buried remains of a wolf's skull.  Suddenly the encircling bushes all rise up on four legs, revealing th...

D&D Homebrew Races - Maenads / Bacchanal Berserkers

Image
A homebrew race of wine cultists who have gone feral for   Dungeons & Dragons  3e/3.5 ; created by   Aboleth Eye !        As always, though this homebrew was made with  D&D  3.5 edition  in mind, with a few tweaks you can absolutely use this material with  Pathfinder  1st edition ! --  Aboleth Eye     Maenads are a race of half-feral zealots to gods of chaos and wine, wanderers and hedonists who have transformed into fierce predators through occult rituals.  These creatures, outside of the delirious atmosphere of their cult, are often at the behest of a feral thirst for blood, wine and violence they can barely master.  Their souls evolved and rewritten from their original selves, they wander the earth seeking glory, the divine and bloodshed (though not necessarily in that order). "This month is fit for little. The dead ripen in the grapeleaves. A red tongue is among us. M...

D&D Homebrew Races - The Concubi (Succubus-born)

Image
A homebrew race of seductive planetouched for   Dungeons & Dragons  3e/3.5 ; created by   Aboleth Eye !        As always, though this homebrew was made with  D&D  3.5 edition  in mind, with a few tweaks you can absolutely use this material with  Pathfinder  1st edition ! --  Aboleth Eye      The Concubi are a race of descended from humans who were intimate with or pacted with succubi and other manipulative, soul-draining fiends.  Many mortals would trade their soul, their destiny or even their own legacy for their heart's desire.  Succubi and incubi, of all demonkind, are the most eager to forge these damnable pacts.  And the embrace of a succubus is famously unforgettable; their tainted touch irreparable.  Even their cursed descendants feel the draw of their Abyssal ancestor... "We swallow greedily any lie that flatters us,  but we sip only little by...

Ani DiFranco , songwriter , in her song ...

D&D Homebrew Races - The Estran / Object-Head Strangers

Image
A homebrew race of object-headed planescape wanderers for Dungeons & Dragons 3e/3.5 ; created by Aboleth Eye !  Originally starting out as a way to bring object/TV-headed characters to life, this has developed into its own entire race of unusual outsiders searching for their purpose      As always, though this homebrew was made with  D&D  3.5 edition  in mind, with a few tweaks you can absolutely use this material with  Pathfinder  1st edition ! --  Aboleth Eye      The Estran are a race of outsiders said to come from neutral planes, where the forces of Law and Chaos clash.  Sometimes even planar energy fronts collide, manifesting these strange outsiders as wanderers of the planescape.     Also known as “object-heads”, the Estran are outsiders born with humanoid-resembling bodies from the neck-down.  Floating above their stump of a neck, instead of an attached humanoid head, ...
